Cathy Newbury has been a dedicated foster parent for 19 years, with a wealth of experience in both traditional and specialized placements through private agencies and DCFS. She is highly trained in trauma-informed care for children and teens. Currently, Cathy serves as the Director of Foster Home Recruitment at Let It Be Us, where she works closely with prospective foster parents. In addition to her foster care expertise, Cathy has a background as a Family School Liaison, providing cognitive-behavioral strategies and parental support to help students thrive. In 2021, Cathy participated in the REACH (Resilience Education to Advance Community Healing) pilot program, aimed at fostering trauma-responsive schools and communities. As both a foster and adoptive parent, Cathy brings a deep, personal commitment to supporting children and families in need.
